SIM Box:

A SIM Box, short for Subscriber Identity Module Box, is a device used to route international calls through a large number of local SIM cards.

It enables individuals or entities to take advantage of lower local call rates and avoid international call charges. SIM Boxes are often used for fraudulent purposes, such as bypassing international call tariffs, and can be associated with illegal activities like voice call termination (VoIP fraud).

SIM Box Detection:

SIM Box Detection refers to the methods and technologies used to identify and locate SIM Boxes in a telecommunications network.

Detection mechanisms aim to identify instances where international calls are being terminated locally through SIM Boxes, allowing service providers to take appropriate action to prevent fraud and enforce network regulations. Detection may involve analyzing call patterns, monitoring traffic, and using specialized tools to pinpoint the presence of SIM Boxes.

SIM Farms:

SIM Farms, also known as SIM Banks or SIM Hosting, involve the centralized management of a large number of SIM cards.

These SIM cards are often hosted in a controlled environment, and they can be remotely programmed and controlled. SIM Farms are used for legitimate purposes, such as testing and quality assurance in the telecommunications industry. However, they can also be exploited for fraudulent activities, including SIM card cloning, SMS fraud, and other illicit uses.

These terms are associated with telecommunications and often involve regulatory and security concerns. SIM Box fraud, in particular, can impact the revenue of telecom operators and compromise the integrity of their networks. Detection methods and preventative measures are crucial to mitigate the risks associated with the illicit use of SIM Boxes and SIM Farms.”
